Pittsburgh Weather: Showers Returning To Area, Storms Possible

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Showers and thunderstorms will continue to pass through the area Thursday evening and night.

There is the small chance that one or two of these could pack gusty winds in excess of 60 mph, but the bigger concern is the heavy rain that any storm could have. When all is said and done 1 to 2 inches of rainfall is not out of the question.

These showers and storms will wrap up Friday afternoon.

This will lead us to a dry start to the Mother's Day weekend, however, showers return for Mother's Day. Right now, they time in to arrive in the afternoon hours.

Cooler temperatures, in the 50s and 60s, take us from the weekend through the start of the new week. We will see temperatures bounce back, though, toward the middle of next week.
