2 Gunshot Wound Victims Arrive At Children's Hospital, 1 Pronounced Dead

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police are investigating after two men arrived at Children's Hospital Monday evening suffering from gunshot wounds.

According to city Public Safety officials, the men's white Chevy Equinox SUV pulled up at one of the hospital's emergency entrances around 6:40 p.m. Police roped off the area with police tape.

Officials say both men were suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The driver was screaming for help.

"He was flying, honking his horn, and I put my hands out like, 'What are you doing driving fast?' And he pulls in screaming, 'Someone please help. Someone please help,'" said one witness.

Doctors pronounced the SUV's passenger dead at the hospital.

Police say the driver, at last report, was listed in critical condition. He underwent surgery Monday night.

Officials say they don't know the location of the shooting.

But police are asking anyone who saw a white Chevy Equinox speeding or driving erratically around in the city at that time, or anyone with any other information on the case to call 911.

"What we need desperately from the public because we do not know where this shooting occurred, if they heard shots fired and didn't call 911s please call and let us know," said Pittsburgh Police spokeswoman Sonya Toler. "If they saw a white Chevy SUV speeding along the roadway to someplace, please call and let us know."

Police are also investigating reports of shots being fired around 6:30 p.m. in the 3000-block of Bergman Street in Sheraden.

Public Safety officials say they don't know yet if the two incidents are related.

Neighbors along Bergman Street tell KDKA that two men were arguing and people inside the home ran after some glass shattered.

"I saw a gentleman across the street here... fire about three or four shots in this direction. They were having an argument about something, I'm not quite sure what," said one neighbor.

The investigation continues into both incidents.
