Shooting Victim Found In Fineview Dies

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) --- Pittsburgh Police say a shooting victim found in the city's Fineview neighborhood has died.

Police say officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of Belleau Drive shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday night for a reported shooting. They found Brian Pinkney, 29, of Pittsburgh, outside in a courtyard. He had been shot in the head.

"We have no information about the victim other than he appears to be an adult black male. We don't know if he was sitting in the courtyard, visiting someone. We have no information right now," Pittsburgh Police Public Information Officer Sonya Toler said.

Pinkney was transported to Allegheny General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

9 p.m. UPDATE --

Pittsburgh Police say they have arrested 26-year-old Davon Jones in connection with the shooting. He was taken into custody on Wednesday afternoon. He will face criminal homicide charges, as well as firearms counts.
