Pickup Truck Loses Control, Crashes Over Barrier In Shaler Twp.

SHALER TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A pickup truck went off the side of a road in Shaler Township overnight, over a barrier and down a hill.

The crash happened on Kay Street at the intersection with Saxonburg Boulevard at about 3:20 a.m.

According to Shaler Township Police, the truck crashed over a small bridge, down a hill to Little Pine Creek. There was damage to the railing and a wing wall of the bridge.

No one was injured, but the street had to be closed after the crash.

It has since reopened.

Police say they took the driver into custody after showing "signs of impairment."

The crash remains under investigation.
