Motorcyclist Shot, Killed In Shadyside

SHADYSIDE (KDKA) -- A motorcycle crash is what police initially thought they would be dealing with when they got to the 5600 block of Fifth Avenue in Shadyside near the intersection of Negley. The call came in just before 2 a.m. Saturday.
"We have one motorcycle down. We have an older gentleman unresponsive. Eastern Area is doing rescue breaths," 911's call from Broadcastify continues. "I need the medic to step it up a little bit."
Police said that man, Stephen Drake Jr., 47, had at least one gunshot wound to his torso. Drake was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Witnesses reported several gunshots in the area and shell casings were found on the street.
According to STK Embrace Life's Facebook page, Drake, known to many as "Scum" or "Scummy", was a Homewood native and loved by many. The post goes on to say that he was influential in the community and leaves behind several children.
A friend of Drake's messaged KDKA's Amy Wadas on Facebook and said that Drake was a very caring father, loyal friend and respected community member. He said he would go out of his way to help family and friends. He said his greatest attribute was his ability to see the good in all and went on to say he will be truly missed
Police don't know who is responsible for the shooting. If you have any information, you're being asked to call Pittsburgh Police.
