Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Areas To The North

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The sunshine we saw today won't last; stormy weather is moving back into the area.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for Crawford, Erie, Lawrence, Mercer and Venango counties through midnight.

KDKA's Jon Burnett says the severe weather is moving in from Ohio into the northern parts of our area.

"We have had severe thunderstorm warnings begin to crop up in north central Ohio… all the way across, almost to the Pennsylvania line," said Burnett. "That's indicative to what's coming for our friends to the north. Heavy showers and storms marching across north central Ohio right into southwestern Pennsylvania."

But Burnett says we could all get wet overnight.

"Be on the lookout for increasing clouds, warm and muggy with showers and storms. All of us will see something overnight and early [Tuesday]," he says. "It looks like the second half of the day [Tuesday] things will dry out. But keep the umbrella handy and expect some fireworks overnight all through the viewing area, especially north of I-80."
