Severe Thunderstorm Watch In Effect For Much Of The Area

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – It might sound strange, but there are some thunderstorms moving into the area on Christmas Eve.

According to the National Weather Service, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 10 p.m. for central and eastern Ohio, western Pennsylvania and parts of West Virginia.

Affected counties in Pennsylvania include the following: Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Crawford, Greene, Lawrence, Mercer, Venango and Washington.

A Wind Advisory is also in effect until 1 a.m. Thursday for the following counties in Pennsylvania: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Cambria, Clarion, Crawford, Greene, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence, Mercer, Somerset, Venango and Washington.
