Several Hurt In Riot At Butler Co. Juvenile Detention Center

ALLEGHENY TWP. (KDKA) -- Several people were hurt Saturday afternoon during a riot at a juvenile detention center in Butler County.

State police say the incident started among two groups of inmates in the cafeteria at the Mid-Atlantic Youth Service Center in Allegheny Township. Around 24 inmates were involved in the fight.

Four staff members were hurt while trying to break up the fights. Two inmates were taken to the hospital.

This is the second riot at the facility in about two weeks.
