Deadly Motorcycle Crash Backs Up Traffic On Parkway East

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A deadly crash involving a motorcycle restricted part of the Parkway East this afternoon.

State police responded to the scene of the crash between a vehicle and motorcycle. It happened around 11:30 a.m.

Police say the crash happened when the motorcycle swerved from the center lane and hit an SUV in the left lane. The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and was killed.

The driver of the SUV wasn't injured.

According to PennDOT, the outbound Parkway East was reduced to a single-lane of traffic between the Grant Street on-ramp and the Forbes Avenue/Oakland off-ramp.

It caused significant delays during the afternoon hours.
