Sean Rodriguez: Prepared To Play Variety Of Roles
PITTSBURGH (KDKA 93-7 The Fan)- New Pirates utility man Sean Rodriguez joined Dan Zangrilli Saturday on Bucco Talk.
Rodriguez discussed the switch from filling a utility role in the American League with Tampa Bay to the National League.
"Going to the National League, essentially, I'm going into every game expecting to get in at some point. Whether it's pinch hitting, whether it's defensively, whether it's pinch running, whether it's get out there and lay a bunt down, whatever it might be. But mentally, that's exactly what I'm telling myself," Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez has played seven positions over the course of his career.
Is there any one position where he feels most comfortable?
"Anywhere in the middle of the field is where I feel I guess most natural, most comfortable only because the corners, obviously the angles change in the outfield, at third, at first," Rodriguez said.
