School Van Hit By Bullet In Armstrong County

PLUMCREEK TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- State Police in Armstrong County are investigating after a school van was struck by a bullet early this morning.

The incident happened just after 6 a.m. along Route 422 in Plumcreek Township.

According to state police, the bullet hit the driver's side rear quarter panel of the Dodge Caravan. It's not known what caliber of firearm the bullet came from.

Police say there were no students on the bus at the time of the incident.

The 33-year-old driver was not injured.

Authorities estimate the damage to the school van to be $400. Police were able to recover the bullet.
