School Bus Struck By Gunfire In North Point Breeze

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Officers are investigating after a school bus was struck by gunfire in North Point Breeze.

According to police, the school bus driver said while she was driving through the 7100 block of McPherson Boulevard, the bus was struck by gunfire. The bus later stopped at the intersection of Oakwood and Tioga Streets around 6:30 p.m. That's when officers arrived.

A window on the bus was shattered, and the bullet landed about three seats away from the nearest student.

Five teenage boys were on the bus at the time, they were headed home from an after-school program at Pittsburgh Science and Technology Academy in Oakland.

The students were picked up by another bus and taken home.

Pittsburgh Police and Pittsburgh Public Schools Police are investigating the incident. They are reviewing surveillance video from the bus.
