Scammers Targeting Your Credit Card Information Over The Phone

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Officials have issued a warning about a scam that tries to trick you into revealing your credit card information.

Here's how it works, according to the Better Business Bureau:

Those targeted get a phone call that claims to be their credit card's security or fraud department, and says there's suspicious activity on the target's card, even describing the bogus transaction.

The scammer then offers to open an investigation into the charge and requests the security code on the back of the target's card.

That is definitely information you should never give out over the phone.
