It's Thanksgiving –

A time to celebrate –

To be grateful for what you have –

And to think about those less fortunate.

Food is a big part of this holiday –

So many people donate to food pantries and the KD Turkey Fund –

To provide a holiday dinner for those who - otherwise - would go without.

That's a good thing –

And well worth doing.

Unfortunately - the last recession really took a huge toll on millions of people –

Many of them in our area.

They've sort of become invisible as the economy slowly improves.

You might not realize how many people are still struggling –

And with more needs than just Thanksgiving dinner.

That's why  -

From now – through December –

KDKA is teaming up with organizations –

And area businesses –

For KDKA's Santa Cause.

We'll be working to tell you about the different causes in our community –

And how you can help.

The need lasts beyond a holiday in November.

Caring – and generosity – can, too.
