Safety In Question After Man Exposes Self Outside Of Whole Foods

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) –The parking lot at the Whole Foods in East Liberty is busy right up until closing.

And generally people in the area feel safe.

"I think the security around here is pretty good," said shopper Ava Gaitens.

But sources tell KDKA-TV not all of the people who work there are feeling safe these days, after a man allegedly exposed himself in the parking area just after closing.

"People are weird," said shopper Brittany Tonet. "People are weird everywhere."

"There's a lot of mental health issues going on and not much is being done about it," said local business owner Sydney Rollins.

Whole Foods had no comment on the reported exposure, but sources tell KDKA the store will be meeting with employees to discuss safety after closing.

Sources also tell KDKA security is provided inside the store, but not the outside area as employees are leaving.

"It's kind of scary, because you kind of feel violated when something like that happens, even though you didn't do anything wrong," said Jill Perkins.
