Mount Pleasant Crash Closes Route 31, Leaves 2 Injured

MOUNT PLEASANT (KDKA) – A Westmoreland County crash left two people injured Tuesday morning.

According to emergency dispatchers, the accident happened on Route 31 in Mount Pleasant Township around 7:30 a.m.

The crash involved a tri-axle dump truck and another vehicle. The empty dump truck overturned and took out telephone poles and wires.

As a result of the crash, Route 31 has been closed in both directions. There is no word on when it may reopen.

Two people suffered minor injuries. Due to dense fog in the area, medical helicopters cannot fly to the scene.
