Rostraver Township commissioner accused of assaulting officials at community event

ROSTRAVER, Pa. (KDKA) - Rostraver Township Commissioner John Lorenzo is accused of physically assaulting several other township officials at a community Halloween event.

Lorenzo is accused of swearing at and striking one individual before police showed up. It's not the only time Lorenzo has faced charges.

It was supposed to be a fun night for kids of all ages at the John DiVirgilio athletic facility and walking trail in Rostraver. According to state police, things were fine until Lorenzo allegedly started lashing out at people working for the township.

Court records say the 43-year-old grabbed township manager Jeffrey Keffer by the shoulder and slapped him in the face multiple times.

According to investigators, Lorenzo also grabbed and swore at fellow township Commissioner Justin Kosanko, screaming "you're (expletive) dead to me."

It all happened as the trick-or-treat event was going on.

According to investigators, Lorenzo also verbally accosted Commissioner Jeffery Johnson. Around this time, law enforcement intervened.

This is not the first time Lorenzo and the law crossed paths. Lorenzo remains on probation after a plea agreement for harassment and other counts after investigators say he used burner phones to set up fake social media accounts to harass personal rivals and political opponents.

KDKA-TV reached out to the alleged victims, who all declined comment. KDKA-TV also reached out to Lorenzo's lawyer for comment but didn't hear back by before the newscast.
