Rockslide Closes Down Portion Of Swinburne Street

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A rockslide has closed down a portion of Swinburne Street in South Oakland until further notice.

The slide came down Saturday morning and brought rocks and debris down onto the roadway.

Crews have closed down the road from Greenfield Avenue to Parkview Avenue.

According to Pittsburgh Public Works officials, the road will be shut down until crews can remove the debris and assess the hillside's stability.

Duquesne Light crews were also called in to fix a street light that was damaged, officials said.

Public Works officials are advising drivers who travel in that area to use Bates Street to get to Oakland.
