Rock Removal Causes Single-Lane Closure On Route 28

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- One lane of traffic on southbound Route 28 will be closed Saturday, July 26, and Sunday, July 27, for rock removal work.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. this weekend, crews from Michael Facchiano Contracting will remove rock and debris from the hillside along the Allegheny Valley Expressway in Harmar Township.

All ramps will remain open, but drivers will have to move into the southbound Route 28 fast lane from the Route 910 on-ramp.

PennDOT advises drivers to use caution when traveling through work zones.
