Rhode Island Beats Duquesne 77-74

KINGSTON, R.I. (AP) - Jared Terrell had 20 points and Hassan Martin added 19 as Rhode Island held on to beat Duquesne 77-74 on Saturday night.

Jarvis Garrett added 17 points and dished out eight assists for Rhode Island (15-12, 7-7 Atlantic 10). Garrett has 117 assists on the season. Martin also had four blocks and Kuran Iverson grabbed 10 rebounds for the Rams.

Terrell, who was 3 of 6 from long range and made all seven free throw attempts, had his sixth 20-point game in the last eight games.

Rhode Island led throughout the second period but could not pull away from the Dukes. Duquesne's Mar'Qywell Jackson nailed a 3-pointer to close to 77-73 with 11 seconds remaining but the Dukes could not get off another shot.

Micah Mason led Duquesne (15-12, 5-9) with 23 points. Eric James added 13 and TySean Powell chipped in 11.
