Resurrection: Swiped Jesus Painting Back At Pa. Restaurant

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) - A painting of Jesus stolen in what the culprit calls a "drunken mistake" has been returned to a Mexican restaurant popular with Penn State students.

The Centre Daily Times reports the savior-swiper returned the painting to Mad Mex restaurant Thursday morning.

The $1,000 painting wasn't harmed.

Mad Mex manager Kristen Burns tells the newspaper the painting showed up in red wrapping paper with a note attached saying, "Please forgive me for my drunken mistake."

Max Mex reported the paining stolen on Monday. The restaurant says it'll look to keep it permanently affixed to the wall from now on.
