Residents evacuated after vehicle hits home gas line in East Pittsburgh

EAST PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - People living in the 1400 block of Electric Avenue had to be evacuated due to a major gas leak. 

Dispatch confirmed to KDKA that just before noon, a vehicle lost control and hit the gas line of a home in East Pittsburgh, causing the gas to leak.

The driver of the vehicle was injured but walked away from the crash and was transported for treatment, per officials at the scene.

Two houses were involved in the incident, and they were occupied at the time. All impacted residents were evacuated safely.

First responders, including representatives from Peoples Gas and Duquesne Light, were on the scene. 

North Braddock police are investigating the crash.
