"I don't want my child losing her life because of someone else's ignorance," said Homewood resident Mychal Watson.

Watson is sick of the shootings taking place on city streets, especially in the East Hills and Homewood neighborhoods where he lives and works.

"It affects my life. It affects everyone's lives around here."

Wednesday afternoon, it happened just outside the banquet hall where he works. He was about a half-mile down the road in a car heading towards the business.

"All I heard was a pop, and then I sat there and thought about it, like, 'Nah, that's not what I really thought it was.' I kept moving, and all of a sudden, this."

Investigators said when they arrived, they found a man shot multiple times in his legs and took him to the hospital. One person in the area told KDKA he heard six shots and then saw a person run away up a hill.

"Regardless of how many times it happens, it can be one time or 10 times, it's the same effect every single time," Watson added.

Just down the road, nearly four weeks ago, police said 15 shots were fired outside Denise and Earl's bar, killing two people.

Mychal said something needs to change.

"Think about that before you react. Think before you react."

Watson urges folks to use their words and not their weapons.

"It's going to continue to happen until us as a community stop and come together," said Watson.

At this time, police are not releasing the name or age of the man. They haven't taken anyone into custody.

If you have any information about what happened, call the police.
