Pittsburgh Police End Search For Reported Abducted Child

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police have called off a search of a reported child abduction in Banksville.
Shortly after 9:00 p.m. Pittsburgh Police responded to reports of a child abduction from Banksville Park.
A witness told police she saw a man near the wood line take a 6 or 7-year-old girl with brown hair, a white shirt and pink dress into the woods.
However, after searching for several hours, it was determined the girl misinterpreted what she thought she witnessed.
Police came to this conclusion when some of the witness details changed and there were not reports of a missing child.
The search ended just after midnight.
