Woman Poses As Independent Living Center Employee To Steal From Residents

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – Police are investigating after a woman posed as an independent living center employee in Butler County to steal money from residents.

More than 300 independent living residents stay on the campus of Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Jefferson Township in three different apartment buildings.

According to state police, two of those buildings were targeted by 31-year-old Ricki Lee Double.

On Sunday, police say Haven Building No. 1 was hit. Then, on Monday, Haven Building No. 2 was the target.

Spokesperson Shirley Freyer says, "All of our buildings are secured. Every one of them has multiple security cameras."

It was one of those cameras that captured Double as she walked out of the facility after allegedly robbing two male residents, ages 89 and 94.

State police say Double entered the resident's quarters through their patio doors.

On Sunday, police say she stole $120 in cash. Monday she returned, allegedly getting away with about $150.

The residents let her in because Double allegedly told them she worked at the facility. Once inside police say she went through their personal property.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Double. She faces several charges including criminal trespassing and theft.
