Report: W. Va. State Police Apprehend Escaped Murder Suspect

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A murder suspect who escaped from a psychiatric hospital in West Virginia earlier this week is reportedly back in police custody.

According to WDTV in Clarksburg, West Virginia, Rocco Zuccaro was captured late Wednesday night near Route 19 in Harrison County, West Virginia.

Zuccaro is from Smith Township, in the Burgettstown area.

He lived there with his parents before he got into trouble with the law.

He is currently awaiting trial on first-degree murder charges involving a homicide in Brooke County, West Virginia, in February of 2013.

West Virginia State Police, according to our affiliate WDTV, tracked Zuccaro down after employees at a truck stop said a man matching his description came into the business and stole some items.

He was caught on surveillance video there.

Smith Township Police were also involved in the search for Zuccaro.
