Report: Steelers To Meet With RB Starks

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - In an effort to solidify depth in their running game, the Pittsburgh Steelers reportedly are a suitor for a free agent back from Green Bay.

Alan Robinson of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review is reporting the Steelers will meet with James Starks on Tuesday.

While injuries have plagued the five-year pro, Starks produced the best season of his career in 2013. Over 13 games, Starks, a 2010 sixth round draft pick of the Packers, rushed for 493 yards on 5.5 yards per carry.

If signed by Pittsburgh, Starks likely would become the primary backup to second-year pro Le'Veon Bell.

Backup Jonathan Dwyer recently left the Steelers after signing a one-year free agent deal with the Arizona Cardinals.
