Report: Steelers Lose WR Jerricho Cotchery To Carolina

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - It came down to the Steelers or Carolina Panthers for wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery. Today, we found out that one of Ben Roethlisberger's favorite endzone targets chose the Panthers.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Cotchery's decision on Twitter Thursday morning.

Cotchery is coming off one of the most productive years of his career catching 46 passes for 602 yards and a team leading 10 touchdowns.

The 31-year-old receiver represents one of the biggest losses for the Steelers this offseason as they're now extremely thin at the wide receiver position.

This will likely force second year receiver Markus Wheaton into a starting role alongside Antonio Brown.
