Steelers Assistant Coach Allegedly Assaults Patriots Fan

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Pittsburgh Steelers assistant coach is being investigated for allegedly assaulting a Patriots fan Thursday night.

The story was first reported by ESPN, and the Steelers now say they are looking into the incident.

NFL security is investigating tight ends coach James Daniel for allegedly assaulting and verbally accosting a Patriots fan on the way to the locker room before halftime.

ESPN says the Daniel was allegedly seen kicking a Patriots fan in the back of his leg, and yelling at a fan in front of witnesses.

By the time Daniel returns to the coaching booth after halftime, police and NFL security were waiting for him.

ESPN also says Daniel shouted at police officers after being identified by witnesses.
