Report: Reliever Caminero Headed To Big-League Spot With Bucs

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - One of the Pirates' new players could end up on the team's big-league roster.

Reliever Arquimedes Caminero, acquired from the Miami Marlins, appears to have "an 'inside track' for setup at the major-league level," reports CBSSports' Larry Harstein.

Caminero was placed on the team's roster, "without remaining minor-league options," reports Harstein.

MLB.com says the towering 6-foot-4, 250-pound pitcher can clock 100 miles per hour on a radar gun.

Caminero struck out 79 in 63 innings last season for AAA New Orleans.
