Report: Pirates 'Winners' Of MLB Offseason

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - The Pirates had one of their busiest offseasons in a long time, and the results of that have translated into praise from at least one MLB writer.

As CBSSports.com Baseball Writer Dayn Perry writes, along with Nelson Cruz, Ervin Santana, Brandon McCarthy and the Washington Nationals, the Pirates are amongst baseball's biggest winners.

Perry cites the $58.5 million the Pirates paid out this offseason as one of the reasons they were able to be one of the big winners.

Perry writes specifically about the signing of starters Francisco Liriano, AJ Burnett and Korean free agent Jung-ho Kang as reasons why he liked the Buccos offseason.
