Report: Pirates SS Jake Elmore Elects To Test Free Agency

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - According to Brandon Wise of CBSSports.com, former Pirates shortstop Jake Elmore has elected to test free agency.

Elmore was claimed by the Pirates back in November, only to be designated for assignment in January.

Elmore appeared in five games for the Reds in 2014, hitting .182 in 12 plate appearances, striking out four times.

During his three years of various stints in the Major Leagues, Elmore put together a career batting average of .221 in 87 games with two home runs and 13 RBI.
