Report: Pirates Re-Signing Sean Rodriguez

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - As first reported by Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com, the Pirates are bringing back utilityman Sean Rodriguez.

Tribune-Review Pirates beat writer Rob Biertmepfel confirmed the terms of the deal.

Last year with the Pirates, Rodriguez appeared in 139 games, hitting .246 with four home runs and 17 RBI while playing every position except for center field, catcher and pitcher.

His most appearances came at first base, where he played in 102 games.

Most notably, Rodriguez started over Pedro Alvarez at first base in the Wild Card game against the Chicago Cubs.
