Report: Pens Trade Target Evander Kane To Miss Remainder Of Season

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Reports have surfaced recently suggesting the Pittsburgh Penguins were interested in trading for Winnipeg Jets forward Evander Kane, but news came out today that Kane is expected to have shoulder surgery that will keep him out 4-6 months.

As Adam Gretz of CBSSports.com writes, this may still be the end of Kane in a Jets uniform, but it may take a little longer for them to trade him now, something that seems inevitable.

The trade rumors between the Pens and Jets included Chris Kunitz, Beau Bennett and either Simon Despres or Brian Dumoulin.

Despite playing through his shoulder injury this year, Kane has still scored 10 goals in 37 games and tallied 12 assists.
