Steelers Name Munchak As Offensive Line Coach

PITTSBURGH (KDKA)-The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially hired Mike Munchak as their new offensive line coach.

With rumors heating up last night, the Steelers made the official announcement Thursday morning.

"I am excited that Mike will be joining our staff at the Pittsburgh Steelers," Head Coach Mike Tomlin said in a statement. "Mike's offensive line background speaks for itself, both as a Hall of Fame player for the Houston Oilers and as a very successful coach with the Tennessee Titans. I look forward to having him join our coaching staff as we have already started preparing for the 2014 season."

Wednesday night. CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora has reported that Munchak will become the Steelers' new offensive line coach.

Munchak was most recently the head coach of the Tennessee Titans, where he was fired after three seasons and a 22-26 record.

He interviewed for NFL head coaching vacancies in Detroit and Cleveland, as well as the head coaching position at his alma mater of Penn State.

He'll replace Jack Bicknell, Jr., who was fired by the team shortly after the end of the season.
