Report: Industry Insiders Suspect Pirates Will Trade McCutchen

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Industry insiders suspect the Pittsburgh Pirates will trade Andrew McCutchen sometime in the next year, according to reports.

The Tribune-Review reports that industry insiders believe the Pirates will try to trade McCutchen before he reaches free agency in a year or two.

MLB Network Radio analyst Jim Duquette told the Tribune-Review that some insiders he's spoken with believe the Pirates will trade McCutchen this winter, but he himself believes the trade isn't likely to happen before July 31.

McCutchen's contract is guaranteed through next season at a salary of $14 million and includes a $14.75 million option/$1 million buyout for 2018.
