Report: Man Allegedly Beats Son With Lightsaber Toy, Skips Preliminary Hearing
SPRINGDALE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - An arrest warrant has been issued for a man from Springdale Township for allegedly beating his son with a "Star Wars" lightsaber toy.
According to the Tribune-Review, Mondairo Jones was due in court for a preliminary hearing on Monday.
Prosecutors planned to drop most of the charges, but he failed to show up for the hearing.
A representative from CYF also failed to attend the hearing.
As a result, an arrest warrant was issued for Jones.
Investigators say Jones used the lightsaber to beat his 10-year-old son on Christmas Eve because the boy had awakened him.
