Hoyer To Start Week 1 Against Steelers

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Steelers will open up the regular season at Heinz Field against the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 7.

The mystery of which quarterback would be at the helm for Cleveland was solved Wednesday morning.

According to a report from CBS Cleveland, Brian Hoyer will get the start over Johnny Manziel.

Manziel has gained notoriety over the past couple of years for his success on the field at Texas A&M.

His antics on and off the field have also drawn the ire of many.

Most recently, Manziel made headlines by flipping off the Washington Redskins' bench during a preseason game Monday.

Manziel completed seven of his 16 pass attempts for 65 yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Hoyer was 2-6 for 16 yards.

In their first preseason game against the Lions, Hoyer was 6-14 for 92 yards.
