Report: Former WR Lance Moore Happy To No Longer Be With Steelers

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - You didn't have to be an NFL expert to know Lance Moore wasn't a productive member of the Steelers wide receiver corp in his one season with the team.

Moore put up just 14 catches for 198 yards and two touchdowns in what can only be classified as a disappointing season.

To hear him discuss it, Moore would call the entire season a waste after signing a two-year deal with the team.

As Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press writes, Moore knew the exact moment he wanted out.

"I knew the day after the playoff loss that we had, I knew that I didn't want to be there anymore."

According to Moore, that was the first time in his career he was a healthy scratch, and that apparently didn't sit well with the receiver.

With one-year left on his contract, Moore requested the Steelers release him from the deal following the season, which they did, and he signed with the Detroit Lions.

Releasing Moore was mutually beneficial as the Steelers saved $1.5 million in cap space.
