Report: Flyers' Giroux Arrested In Ottawa For Grabbing Male Cop's Buttocks

OTTAWA (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Penguins had an eventful day to mark the opening of the free agency period on Tuesday.

While the Penguins were reshaping their roster for next season, their cross-state rivals in Philadelphia kept pretty quiet.

However, one of their stars reportedly spent the night in jail.

According to a report in the Ottawa Sun, Claude Giroux was arrested for, "repeatedly grabbing the buttocks of a male police officer."

The report indicates that alcohol may have played a role in the incident.

Giroux was a Hart Trophy finalist this season after leading the Flyers with 86 points (28 goals, 58 assists). In the playoffs, Giroux added two goals and four assists in their first round seven-game series loss to the New York Rangers.
