2-Year-Old Located In Woods After Amber Alert

BERWICK (KDKA) --- Pennsylvania State Police issued an Amber Child Abduction Alert Sunday night, but later discovered the subject of the alert had not been abducted.

The initial report stated 2-year-old Alexis Weber of Berwick, Columbia County had been abducted Sunday at approximately 7 p.m. Police believed her to be in a vehicle that was missing, and believed to be stolen, from the driveway of her home.

Around midnight, Weber was located in a wooded area behind the home. State police say it was determined that Weber's mother had failed to put the vehicle in park, allowing it to move forward with Weber still inside over a small parking curb and down a hill into a wooded field.

Weber was taken to a medical facility to be evaluated as a precautionary measure, and the Amber Alert was canceled shortly after 1:30 a.m. Monday morning.
