Report: 3 Possible Sexual Assault Cases Reported During WVU's 1st Weekend Of Semester

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (KDKA) -- A Morgantown newspaper says three possible sexual assault cases were reported during the first weekend of West Virginia University's fall semester.

According to The Dominion Post, WVU police responded to three possible sexual assault cases this past weekend. None of the cases are confirmed and no arrests have been made.

WVU Police Chief Bob Roberts told The Dominion Post that he didn't believe there was an increase in sexual assault activity; he believes more people are talking about and reporting their incidents than they have in the past.

The Dominion Post reports there were a total of six forcible sex offenses on campus and five cases went unfounded in 2014.
