Students Donating Repaired Vehicle To Family In Need

MONROEVILLE (KDKA) -- A local family in need could win a car in January thanks to students from a local school.

Students at the Forbes Road Career and Technology Center repaired a salvage vehicle donated by the Flagship Collision, and now they're giving it away.

The 2011 Chevrolet Malibu has around 60,000 miles, new inspection stickers and will come with a full tank of gas and a fuel gift card. The car is valued at more than $10,000.

Low-income individuals who are residents of the Pittsburgh region can enter to win the vehicle. Eligible families must have a valid driver's license, proof of income/employment and a safe driving record. They must be financially challenged, and they must be able to insure, register and maintain a vehicle.

Applications are available on ForbesRoad.org. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Recycled Rides Application" under "Services."

Applications are due on Dec. 1. The winner will be notified in early-to-mid-January 2017.
