Rare Pirates Baseball Card Expected To Fetch $1 Mil At Auction

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The most valuable baseball card in the world – The "Oceanside Wagner" – is expected to sell at an auction this month for more than $1,000,000.

The extremely rare card from 1909-1911 features Honus Wagner of the Pittsburgh Pirates. It was found in an Oceanside, N.Y. attic back in 2008. Only 50-75 card are believed to exist.

The original owners sold it for more than $700,000 after it was discovered.

It's currently being auctioned by Robert Edward Auctions, starting at $100,000. However, the auction house says it expects to fetch more than $1,000,000. If you have a spare mil burning a hole in your pocket, you can submit a bid until April 25. The latest bid as of this writing is $700,000.

According to ESPN, the card sold in 2013 for $2.1 million online.
