Powerful Storms Rip Through The Area

BUTLER COUNTY (KDKA)- Some strong storms ripped through the area late Monday night into Tuesday morning.

The storms led to some amazing lightning in the sky. It also led to some flooding in parts of Butler County.

High water forced crews to shut down part of Pleasant Hill Road in Marshall Township. The road is closed until the water recedes.

Also, a creek in Richland Township overflowed leading to some homes being flooded.

At least one home along Valencia Road had a decent amount of water in the basement.

There were several reports of other minor flooding and some trees down.

Overall, there wasn't a lot of major damage in the area.

More thunderstorms are expected later today.
