Powerball Jackpot Climbs To Record $900 Million

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Powerball jackpot has climbed yet another $100 million to a record $900 million.

The Powerball jackpot continues to set and break records for the largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history. Friday, it set the record at $800 million, then broke that record just a day later when it rose to $900 million annuity value, or a $558 million cash prize.

This is the second day in a row the jackpot has increased by $100 million, thanks largely to strong ticket sales.

Tickets will be on sale in Pennsylvania until 9:59 p.m. Saturday, and the drawing will take place at 11 p.m. in Tallahassee, Florida.
