Settlement Reached Before Civil Trial Involving Pouncey Brothers Begins

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A settlement was reached on Monday, just hours before a civil trial was set to start involving Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey and his brother, Michael.

A man filed a lawsuit claiming the Pouncey brothers allegedly made homophobic remarks and attacked him at a nightclub in Miami in July of 2014.

Attorneys representing the man released surveillance from inside the club that allegedly shows the incident.

Miami prosecutors saw the same video and decided it did not show the Pouncey brothers committing a criminal act.

Three people were injured when several people were pushed and knocked down near the dance floor.

No charges were filed in the alleged incident.

The Pounceys have maintained their innocence from day one.

The plaintiff is seeking $500,000. But details of the settlement haven't been released.
