Police, SWAT Respond To Shooting In Braddock

BRADDOCK (KDKA) -- Police and SWAT responded to a shooting in Braddock.

Officials responded Thursday to the 500 block of Talbot Avenue, where a man was found with a gunshot wound to the ankle in front of an apartment building.

Witnesses told police the perpetrator ran into a building, starting a standoff with officials.

The man later surrendered without incident at approximately 3:40 p.m.

Two people, including the alleged shooter, were taken into custody. A woman assaulted a SWAT officer in an attempt to stop the arrest of the suspect, police said.

The call came in around 1:27 p.m

The victim was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have not released a motive for the shooting.
