Possible Legionella Cases Investigated At Allegheny Valley School

CORAOPOLIS (KDKA) -- Health officials are looking into two possible Legionella cases at Allegheny Valley School.

Melissa Wade, Public Health Information Officer, confirmed Thursday there had been two possible cases of the Legionella infection, but did not elaborate further.

According to their website, Allegheny Valley School is a private, non-profit organization established in 1960 to care for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Authorities say the school immediately alerted Allegheny County health officials, who have conducted multiple tests on campus that have so far all come back negative.

As a precaution, the school has switched to using bottled water.
