Police: Uber Driver Trapped Pa. Woman In His Car

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. (AP) - Police say an Uber driver wouldn't let a Pennsylvania woman out of his car because he wanted her to give him her phone number.

WGAL-TV reports 46-year-old Vincent Messan, of McConnelsburg, was flirting with the 22-year-old woman and asking her to date him.

When she tried to get out of his car, she couldn't because he'd activated the child safety locks on the doors. The woman told police Messan would let her out "after she provided her phone number."

The woman says Messan allowed her to leave but also got out, pinned her against the vehicle and kissed her. The woman ran and called police.

The incident allegedly occurred Sept. 18 in Shippensburg Township, but state police filed false imprisonment and harassment charges Thursday.

Messan's phone was disconnected Friday.
